Operation Sandwich

| Print |

Making sandwiches is a great group project and a much-appreciated donation to our daily operation.  Here's a few pointers:

  •  We need 800 sandwiches every day of the year – that’s almost 300,000 sandwiches on an annual basis. We appreciate your donation, whether it’s 50 sandwiches or 800.
  • Contact our kitchen manager, Sandra Smith,  704-926-0602, to schedule your donation.
  • Plan to deliver the sandwiches by  9:30 a.m. on the day you’ve chosen.
  • Use either white or whole wheat sandwich bread, no heels please.
  • For meat sandwiches, use ham, turkey, roast beef or bologna. If meat is sliced really thin, use a couple slices. Adding a slice of cheese is nice too.
  • Please use mayonnaise for meat sandwiches but no mustard. Not necessary to add lettuce or tomato.
  • Peanut butter and jelly is also good.
  • The neighbors love egg salad!
  • Pimento cheese is NOT well received by the neighbors.
  • It is ideal to put sandwiches in individual baggies but not necessary. You can stack the assembled sandwiches inside the bread bag.
  • Please keep meat/cheese sandwiches refrigerated.
